Love Albania
Stories Worth Sharing
From the safety of our Western privilege, it would be easy to assume that those experiencing hardship and poverty don’t want to help themselves, but that is not the case.
So What Do They Want?
It’s Simple. They want what we all want: Food, clothing, shelter, safety, employment, education, and the opportunity to create a bright future for their children.

Money Is Temporal, Compassionate Giving Is Eternal!
You work hard for your money. At Love Albania through the Durrës Christian Centre Foundation, we have a proven track record of helping your money work hard for the marginalized people of Albania.
These Are Their Stories:
Meet Dhurata Laska
We are blessed to have had our cook, Dhurata, as a member of our family for over 18 years.
Here is her story in her own words:
Dhurata’s story:
My name is Dhurata. I have faced numerous hardships in my life, but the most profound loss was when I lost my husband, the father of my children. We learned that he was tragically killed in Italy in 2004, allegedly by the mafia. It felt like my world had been turned upside down, and I was utterly devastated. I found myself at a loss, unsure of how to provide for and raise three young children who now relied solely on me for love and support. Our financial situation was dire, and I had to spend my days gathering wood and herbs on the mountainside to sell just to buy flour so I could make bread to feed my hungry children.
My kids were getting ready to start school, and I couldn't afford to buy their textbooks. Amidst this profound desperation, I came to realize that I wasn't alone. Someone was constantly by my side. He became a Father not only to my children but also to me because I had grown up as an orphan myself. I invited Jesus into my life, and I could see and feel His presence everywhere. God provided for us in miraculous ways, for which I am eternally grateful.
I thank God for sending missionaries from around the world to share the gospel in Albania, and I'm also deeply thankful for the wonderful Pastor we had at our church. He was an incredible blessing to me and my family. Through him, God guided us forward despite my tireless work planting vegetables in our small yard and tending to our pigs. Even with my continuous efforts, it was impossible for me to provide everything my young children needed. The Pastor eased our burdens by enrolling my children in a feeding program and providing us with food bags. I was further blessed when he offered me a job at the church. He even contributed funds to repair our almost uninhabitable house. Among other issues, our roof leaked, and the wind blew through the house, necessitating that we all huddle together in one bed to keep warm at night.
Through it all, I've known that God has been with me, and I've felt His constant presence because I know He is unwaveringly faithful. I want to express my gratitude to God, my Pastor, and all those who give and pray for the work in Albania. May God bless you, Pastor David, and your family, for you have been a tremendous blessing to the many people you have helped in our church and in Durrës. THANK YOU!
