Local Church Support

  • At Love Albania, from our humanitarian efforts to education and everything in between, we aim to help others know Christ.

    To this end, we also provide:

    • Support for two local Albanian churches

    • Chaplin support for our humanitarian efforts

  • It is one of life's necessities, yet many go with very little; this affects their health, growth, and learning ability. We are working to change that for as many as we can, and to meet the growing demand, we need your support for the following:

    • Feeding programs

      • For over ten years, we fed around 200 children daily. Currently, we serve 100 children who may otherwise not eat at all.

    • Food Bags

      • These monthly food bags for poor families, orphans, and widows at one time contained enough basic food to meet their needs, but that is no longer the case due to the rising cost of living.   • Our commitment is to treat everyone equally and to provide excellent services. Our daycares are one of the most sought-after daycares in the second largest city in Albania. Our exemplary track record has earned us the trust of the community that we serve.

    • Nursery Care (ages 2-3)

    • After-School Care (ages 6-9) Lunch provided

  • Our general Orphan program assists children who are considered orphans with food, clothing, and medical/dental care as funds allow. Many of these children are abandoned by one or both parents and raised by their grandparents, who have a small pension of around $130/month.

    • Orphan Sponsorship Program - Ongoing monthly support for a child in our care.

    Your monthly sponsorship covers the cost of a monthly food bag containing essentials like flour, sugar, cooking oil, pasta, etc.

    Additional gifts above the monthly base amount are welcome and appreciated and used—as funds allow— to help your sponsored child receive medical/dental care as needed and whatever clothing can be purchased.

  • Since 2001, we have provided a set of summer and winter clothes for those in our feeding and orphan programs and others who were needy. At the end of each year— as funds allow— we continue to provide shoes, clothing, and other essentials to everyone in our programs, sourcing our goods from local merchants wherever possible to support the local economy.

Hello! I am Jeton Bajram, 29 years old, born and raised in the city of Durres. I started coming to the church because of the feeding program as a young child of 4 or 5 years old. I found Jesus as my Lord and Savior, and now I can humbly say that I am very blessed to be the pastor of the Durrës Christian Centre church.

Teamwork is one of the strong points of the servants of our church. Our heart beats strongly for Albania and for a national reawakening. Together with the leaders and elders of the church, we have in our hearts to help others and the church to be able to function more effectively in the body of Christ.

God is doing great things in and through us in our nation for His glory, and we believe that this is just the beginning.

Alban became a Christian in 2000 as a young teenager and has been very faithful to the Lord. Since he was 15 years old, he has worked to support his family, and it was a big step to quit his job and attend Christian Leadership Training. He has now finished this 2-year course and is working full-time in our foundation doing a variety of ministries. It is our goal that he will become a pastor on one of our church plants in the future. Alban is a young man who is very dedicated and hard-working and we need people who will support him so he can do freely what God has called him to do.

Future Initiatives

Christian Education

There are currently NO Christian schools in Durrës; the nearest school is in the capital city of Tirana, and the cost of schooling and transportation is an added barrier to most. With an influx of Turkish Muslim schools popping up everywhere in Albania, we aim to make affordable Christian education accessible to everyone. And we believe that quality Christian education will be the catalyst for lasting positive change. Christian education empowers individuals and contributes to the overall growth and well-being of individuals and communities.

Our expansion plans are to begin with Grade 1 education in 2025 with the addition of one Grade level each year following, up to Grade 9. This initiative, in combination with our existing childcare programs, means that the children in our programs will have their spiritual and educational needs met from Nursery age through Grade 9! This will significantly increase their chances of furthering their education, finding employment, and becoming the change their community needs.

Job and Vocational Training

Many young Albanians are unemployed and cannot provide the basic needs for their families. As a result, they often feel hopeless and see immigrating to other countries as the only solution. We hope to provide accelerated professional training to many so they can gain financial independence and stay in Albania to build a future for future generations.

Past Success

  • Everything we do at Love Albania is to help bring people to Christ.

    • Started house churches in neighboring cities and villages.

    • Produced worship CDs. Most of the songs were written by Albanians from our church.

    • Trained worship leaders throughout Albania.

    • Created a worship book and CD for churches without resources.

    • Translated several tracts, Bible studies, a book, outreach, and follow-up material used in Evangelism.

    • Seafarers Ministry

  • Youth and Leadership Training for churches across Albania, Kosovo, and Macedonia.

    • Professional training for the police force of Durrës and other cities in Albania.

    • English as a second language- ESL and computer classes for children, adults, and police officers.

  • Founded United Youth for Christ, an annual National Youth Convention with youth from Kosovo, Bulgaria, Macedonia, England, and Albania. This work continues today through the Ministry of Youth with a Mission Albania and the group of churches who worked with us while we were there.

  • Essential for health, sanitation, hygiene, and sustainable food production.

    • In cooperation with the Water for Life program of Life Outreach International, we have dug several wells, bringing clean drinking water to those who didn’t have any.

    • Access to health and dental services as funds allow

    • Medical devices for hospitals- hospital beds and other essentials.

    • SAFE Housing and support for abused women and children.

    • SAFE Housing for trafficked women.

    • Crisis Intervention (during the Kosovo conflict)

    • During the Kosovo crisis, our bakery became a vessel for helping the refugees pouring into our city by providing free bread. Thanks to the generous support of our friends and supporters and the selfless efforts of those who joined us inside and outside Albania, we were able to help many. As word of our mission spread, others contributed by sending containers filled with humanitarian supplies, which we distributed to those displaced by the war in their homeland.

    • At the peak of the crisis, we distributed over 1,100 loaves of bread each day and provided enough groceries and essential items weekly to sustain and care for the basic needs of 2,000 people.

    • During the civil war in 1997, we brought a container of food and clothes from British Columbia, Canada, to help in a humanitarian way.

    • Business start-ups: bakery, hair salon, hamburger/fast food shop.

    • We provided training for Albanians and started a Hair Salon for them to work in. Today, they own a very successful business.
