The Albanian
people are considered the poorest nation in Europe.
We
are working with the poorest of the poor and many of these people are
not able to provide so their family can eat properly.
We have designed a Feeding Program where we feed some of these
poor a hot meal once a day six days a week.
The majority are children although we have also added some widows
who have not been looked after in other ways.
This program depends totally on the support of
sponsors who agree to sponsor one or more of the needy people for a
year. Not all of the
children we are now feeding are sponsored.
You
wouldn't believe how hard it is to say to one member of the family, you
can come to the feeding program but your little brother or sister here
can't because we don't have  enough
sponsors. Then to see the
little one who happens to be standing there, looking up into your face
with their big eyes, and then to see the look of hope fade and a look of
sadness appear on their faces and their eyes begin to fill up with
tears. It's hard to handle.
We need sponsors. When you sponsor someone you will get their picture and a
write-up about them similar to this:

Both brothers come to
church regularly with their older sister. Their baby brother
died of starvation in the fall of 2000 as their parents take drugs
and weren’t feeding them properly. Even though we didn’t
have enough sponsors we put all three into our program.
Because they are not kept clean we regularly have to de lice
them. Both boys want to be drivers of vehicles (car, taxi,
truck) when they grow up. |
